So I was finally fed up with slow RO/DI water. I had ordered a 100 gpd membrane in December and was only getting just over a gallon per hour out of it with a 3:1 rejection rate. my pressure is 50psi so I chalked it up to that.

well after being fed up, I emailed Gary at Champion Lighting.com where we did a group buy and after telling him the details of the pressure, TDS ratings and water thruput, he emailed his vendor the issue. he then warranted my membrane and I got my new in less than a week! Hooked it up today and I am now getting 73 gallons in a 24 hour period.

You cannot ask for any better results from a Reef Vendor! Best part, is they are a one stop shop too for lots of different goods!

Hopefully you have a GE Water membrane and not a Dow Filmtec. You do realize the 100 GPD Dow is a NanoFilter and not a Revers Osmosis membrane don't you? The difference is significant, 90% rejection or removal rate versus 96-98% rejection rate. What this means is DI resin will last 3 to 4 times longer with a Dow 75 GPD RO membrane or a 100 GPD GE that it will with a Dow Filmtec 100 GPD NanoFilter. The 100 isn't even rated by the ANSI/NSF for drinking water use in the USA, its listed "For Pool and Spa Use".
If you have the Dow 100 I would highly recommend you send it back for something else, your DI replacement savings will more than pay for it.

AZ, hmmmm.. didnt know that. I do know the new one is not a DOW membrane. it is something else but I cannot remember the name now. Aqua something.... anyways, I fell good about it because I am getting tds of 1-5 out of the membrane from 160 in. my previous membrane was 1 out, but like stated only got about 1 gallon per hour. slow as all get out when you have 250 gallons of system water and a 55 gallon top off drum.

I use the Spectrapure Select 90 GPD membrane myself. Its specially treated to improve its GPD and rejection rate then individually hand tested and guaranteed in writing to be better than 98% rejection rate. Mine has averaged 99.35% rejection rate since new and its almost 2.5 years old now. TDS going in is 600+ right now and coming out is 3.2 on a COM-100 TDS meter. DI lasts almost forever like that. Best of all is the Select membranes are only $45 now which is a steal considering the treatment, testing and guarantee they get.
