External Pump recommendations

Hey folks, wanted some opinions on a higher quality external pump. I am thinking of moving my sump to my basement, both for room, and greater options to do stuff like have a bigger sump, refugium, etc. I will need a pump that can lift water 11-14' with at least 7 90's in line. So have a little bit of head pressure to deal with. I'm looking to get around 800-1000 gph to the DT. I've seen lots of pumps that will fill this ticket, but have 0 experience with external pumps, and have only had the Mag 9.5 as an internal pump. I wanted external to try and control the heat, as with that much pump pressure I'm assuming it would be enough to warm up the aquarium.

So, does anyone have a pump they have experience with they can recommend? I can do the research, just looking for some starting guidance.

they are super quiet. I have a hamemrhead running my closed loop and you cannot hear the pump running. I had a iwaki running my return and it was new and was screaming when running. I took that off and replaced it with a coralife 1780 and it was much quieter. If I had know how quiet the reeflos were I would have gone with them for my return too. anyhow thats my 2 cents worth.

The little bit I know about the reeflo pumps is that they are not high head pumps. they are usually great for closed loops or skimmers, they have massive volume but no pressure. I have and still use several iwaski pumps. You only want to get the japanese iwaskis though. I dont have noise problems with either of my pumps. I am using a iwaski md70rlt which is a 1500gph pump, with a maximum head of 32ft. Its an amazing pump. It is running my from my sump downstairs up to my tank in the upstairs, plus it is running a frag tank and I still have a ball valve cutting the pressure back alittle. I also run a md55rlt on my skimmer. Stay away from the "WMD" pumps, they are american made. In my opinion they are the only option for a quality pump when you need high head pressure. Major downside to high pressure pumps is the power consumption.

Sounds like iwaski it will be. The pump itself will be in the basement, so even if noise was high, it wouldn't be an issue. Thanks guys for suggestions, let me know if anything else comes to mind please.

Ran the calculations, looks like I'll be sitting at 17.51ft head pressure. The Iwaki 70 can handle that much head, still giving me 1025 gph.

The iwaki I have that's loud and is new is a 100rlt. Last iwaki I will ever buy for an in room pump. Remote pump where noise is not an issue is fine. Mine will site in the cabinet until I need it as a backup and that's it. If you look at reeflo site and talk with Chris he does have pumps that can handle alot of head pressure. Just give him a shout. They have great customer service.

If you can make it to the meeting this month you can check out the pumps in person in action. It will give you a better idea on the pumps. And if you are newer to external pumps can give you an idea how to plumb them
