I'm thinking of adding a couple of smaller body fairy wrasses to my 75g.

Current fish stock: 2 Occ. Clowns
Tomini Tang
Pink streaked wrasse
Yellow banded possum wrasse

Everything in the tank gets along wonderfully at the moment with zero aggression. I have an acclimation box and plan to use it.

I was thinking something from @evolved's chart. One each(2 total) from the Lubbocki, Lunatus, Rubriventralis, or bathyphilus complex's

As I currently understand the chart, mixing two species in the same complex is a no go. So mixing ones outside each complex, and the ones i've picked based on tank size, should be ok.

My main concern is keeping peace with the Pink streaked and Possum wrasse as they are cool and super docile fish. My tank does have plenty of hiding places.

Any thoughts?

I can't answer your question specifically but ime fairy's were difficult in anything but the most peaceful system. I found adding fish after the fact became difficult as every fish from the point you add the fairy on had to be extremely docile or there was trouble and the fairy hid.

Everything in your aquarium inhabitant wise looks, the acclimation box method will work best, however, you should qt them first before adding to dt. Since both wrasses you’re planning to add are for the most part pelagic, the other 2 shouldn’t bother them.

Thanks for the experienced reply! That's definitely something to consider as the tang and clowns do seem to bully for the first day or so. They do totally ignore the other wrasse now though.

These two potential fairies are planned to be my last additions fish wise. Though I definitely don't want them hiding 24/7 as my intention with them was to have a nice active fish.

You'd be hard pressed to find a more colourful addition, at a budget price, than the c. lubbocki. This basically boils down to what colours you want to add to the tank. I think one of the most beautiful, but not too expensive, is c. isoceles. Price on them has really driven down quite drastically in the past few years.

Thanks for the replies!

So my main question is do new fairy wrasses have any potential to bully the pink streaked and/or possum wrasse. I suppose my post was fairly long winded for the simple question I had lol.

I did not notice any outward aggression between my c. rubeus and my p. ataenia when they were together in my current DT, but that's not to say there can't be. @evolved @eatbreakfast would probably have a better long term opinion than I between cirrhilabrus and pseudocheilinops.

Sounds like a fine plan. :)

I can be done if you choose right, but it's certainly better to err on the side of caution and avoid it if you want the best odds of success.

They won't even pay attention to another.

Agree - and the reason I shy away from giving specific suggestions to hobbyists. Pick what appeals to you (keeping compatibility in mind).

I would be wary of some of the specimens in the rubriventralis complex, as some can be more pugnacious to other fairy wrasses.

But the fairies should completely ignore the possum and pink streak.
