Who is ready to make 180 gallons of rodi on a well? So knowing full well that there will be waste water i will try and divide up the water making to 50 gallons of rodi a day, making sure i don't run the well dry. I've been able to run 1000+ gallons of water in the past, but it's been dry recently.

180 gallons of rodi can produce up to 900 gallons of waste water along with the purified water.

180 gallons will run your well dry?

The membrane claims 98% rejection rate which would be crazy high, but assuming less then efficient, even at 90%, that would be 1,800 total gallons of water.

I guess it depends on how much water your well produces. I make all my rodi water and run sprinklers with no problem. 34 years never have run our well dry .Have you ever run out of water before

We started getting mud once after running it 5 hrs straight. By bed time we were washing dishes and showering, no problem.

Ya you will probably have to be careful make a little everyday. Or maybe a local reefer can help you out. Its unfortunate that rodi wastes so much water. I'm sure there are ways to produce less waste

I mean, cant you just discharge the waste water back into the well so it doesnt run dry and wont waste water?

When it goes down the drain, it returns to the ground refiltered.
So in theory it shouldnt run dry then? I mean if he has a 100GPD unit it should only be drawing less than 22ml of water a second and the waste water should be returned up to 18ml/s to the well. These arent mind blowing flow rates.

What is really crazy is that at 98% rejection, it would be 9,000 gallons.
Not sure where you got 9000gal of waste water from. 98% rejection rate for the RO membrane means the membrane can filter out 98% of the TDS in the water, it does not mean it rejects 98% of the water going in.. Meaning water with 100TDS going in will have 2TDS going out. The amount of waste water an RODI produces depends on the restrictor valve on the waste water line, and its usually a 1:4 ratio. So if you make 100gal a day you produces 400 gal of waste water.

So that was originally how I thought it worked, until I was working with a water company to clean up the water coming into the house and they told me they other way. It would be really nice If it was 4:1 or similar to that, cause that would only be 800-1000 gallons.
