Finally made the switch

So I finally switched out my old pc's for t5's and WoW, why didn't I do this sooner? I was running 4 65 watt current pc's and 2 250 watt phoenix 14k's.I liked the look of the current pc's but at around 40 per bulb when you change 4 bulbs you can **** near buy a whole new fixture for just a little more.So I went ahead and purchased a IceCap 660 and I had some new aquaticlife 420\460 laying around that I threw in temporarily.So I quess this is my question now, What bulbs should I get to get that nice pop out of my corals? Like I said I am still running my phoenix 14k's so what would be nice to compliment them? (oh yeah my phoenix are running on IceCap ballast too)I like the blue look so thats not an issue.All help would be appreciated. But one thing is for sure, I don't see myself going back to pc's.I have finally joined the new revolution. lol

How many T5 bulbs are you using ?

With that Icecap 660 colors will be wash out and bulb will have to be change more frecuently ?

i use geissmann actninic (+) T5's with my helios 250w, They are 20k but I have HQI ballast so they are a nice white blue. Looks awesome, cant wait till my reefbright LEDs get here. Its gonna be outta control.

you can buy 4 65 watt compacts for under 30$ on ebay. Stupid pet stores jack that price up.

The one on ebay are not quality though, old saying goes get what you pay for.

really cause they were brighter than my coralifes, and a pet store in Houston sells the same ones for 40$. I understand that there may be quality issues. but as long as there brighter with a 8month life im happy.

I had algae issues when I tried some and they were all different shades. Not to say some might not be ok but I never had a good experience with them.

By the way please dont mind the wires.I finished at like 3 in the morning retrofitting the fixture so the wires were waiting.Also the tank is in the wall so you are seeing the hidden side in a closet.( I know what some are thinking how rough the install looks.I'm lazy what can I say. lol )
