I always thought it was a polite way of saying you're an a** and got the boot?;Hilarious;Hilarious;Hilarious;Hilarious
Actually, I asked them to take my old banner down because I really haven’t had the time to do the RS any justice. That is what they use in case anyone wants to come back.

I know I just couldn't resist the urge to call you an a** that's all:p

I have read page 1 and this last page and wanted to comment on refurbishing damaged finishes. There is a chemical by Formby's called furniture refinisher. You can put a bit into 0000 steel wool and rub the area and it will redistribute the finish from around the damaged spot. let it dry and then use 600 wet-o-dry sand paper to smooth it. Buff with an old diaper afterwards. should help bring the finish at least close to what it was before. You can then add urethane on top if you desire in a few really thin coats. I use a spray on mine. Don't do it in the house though.. well ventilated area.. Like a garage with the doors open.. winter might not be the best time to do it either if you are in like a cold climate. such as Minnesota. I love Minnesota.. except in the winter.. when I cant ship livestock in.. and stuff.. like refinish furniture. I sometimes try to anyway..

Thanks for the tip. The stand has been finished for about a year now, with the exception of the doors and canopy door.

Ok, for those that are still interested in this build that never ends, we begin yet another chapter. My retirement celebrations have come and gone and I have finally sobered up. Ha. I finally have time to devote to my hobby!

The tank has set idle for quite a while and was covered with dust. So, first step was to excavate the ruins!

The dust in the bottom of the tank had come to resemble the lunar landscape!

So a little elbow grease and time everything started looking a little better.

I have a pair of Kessils that I am adding to the lighting mix. I mounted those today with some nifty little BioTek articulating brackets I found at Aquarium Specialties. I took some pics.

While assembling equipment for this tank, I finally managed to snag a Trident. Looking for a place to place it. There is a space that is seemingly just right for it to the left of the sump. If it ends up there, I want to elevate it a bit to keep it away from any water that may spill in the stand - although I know that rarely happens to reefers. :)

I still have my old doser in there. I actually bought a DOS to go along with the Trident. I was going to do the ATI Essentials, but I am leary of that now because of the availability of the solutions and the cost. I do have a WI-Fi doser for other additives, but that neat little container bracket will likely have to be replaced.

Mrs. Fin was kind enough to get me a matching Quantum reactor to match my skimmer for Christmas.

I rebuilt the entire manifold also. Can't really tell in the photo. The new manifold has all 1" valves with reducers for the smaller plumbing on some outlets,

Finally got the scrubber plumbed in.

The double Vectra returns.

Ok, maybe time for a nap. Stay tuned as I plan to get back to work on this thing. I am sorry that the build has been ridiculously long, but please be patient with the elderly. :p

Looking good @Fin ! Can't wait to see this thing cycling away, I also like the side mounted Kessils, good way to combat shading, I wonder how it will effect PAR in the tank, probably more centered than anything?
I stole the idea of the side-mounted Kessils from a friend of mine. I got one of them with the points I won at BRS last year and purchased the second one. Had I not won the points, I am not sure I would have done this. I won't know about the par until I get everything set up and running. I am hoping that I can make it more even throughout the tank. We will see.
