My first display tank seems to be showing signs of ich but I’m not sure. It’s a 240 and if it is ich I don’t know where to go with all my fish. Right now only 2 neon cleaner gobies are showing any signs. I have a Sailfin tang that I assumed would be the first fish to show signs if anything went wrong, and it appears clean. Any confirmation of it being ich (or not) would be appreciated, as well as ideas of what to do with all my fish if it is. I don’t have another tank suitable to hold them all for treatment, and don’t have the space to set up multiple treatment tanks. Thank you for your help!

Might be hard to see in the photos with the bubbles in the way.

That does look like the start of ich. Gobies show it a bit differently than other fish do. Not all fish will become infected at the same time, but all will need to be treated and the display left fallow (fishless) for 69 days.

Let me know if you want me to review treatment options with you.

Is your Tank a FOWLR? If it is, you could run Hyposalinity. However, CUC and other Inverts cannot tolerate it.

I guess I was just confirming what I already assumed. Thank you. Any suggestions on getting difficult fish out? Mostly concerned about my yellow watchman goby. I assume I’ll just have to accept removing most of my rock work and buy a large plastic tub to move fish into.

No, and if it was I wouldn’t be willing to sacrifice my pistol shrimp that I’m not sure I could get out.

Doesn't look good, oh and I don't mean your Tank. With those fish you a going to have to tear stuff down to catch them which is a real bummer. The good news is from what I can see, all your fish appear to Juveniles so you wouldn't need a huge hospital tank. A single 40G Breeder would probably work and they don't take up that much space. A couple of Cinder Blocks and a Petco Tank is what I would do.

I appreciate the advice. Outside of cinder blocks and a Petco tank any advice for setting up a treatment tank as far as filtration lights etc? And I know copper is generally the treatment method, are there any specific types/brands people tend to prefer?

From what I know, you don't really need any special lights, a HOB filter would be good. I've seen in-tank filters with built in UV sterilizers, but I'm outside of the USA so I'm pretty sure that this specific product isn't available to you.

Ouch - getting those fish out to treat them is going to be difficult/impossible. Are ANY other fish showing spots yet?

My Sailfin tang seems to have A spot on it, and my royal gramma seems a bit off but I’m not seeing spots on it. Im working on getting a tank set up to move them to, but I doubt I’ll be able to get any of the fish out without removing all of the rock work. If that’s what it takes I’ll do it, that will be a heartbreaking process, but less so than losing all my fish

To catch fish without removing all rock, drain all but 2” of water from display, catch fish and pump water back to display. I used a 150G Rubbermaid tub when removing fish from mature 120G
