Where did you buy your leveling mat to go under your tank? I never bought one before since I have always had rimmed tanks. I search on BRS and Premium Aquatics and could not location it

I'm late to the party, but I used a camping sleeping bag mat I pick up from Wally World.

It's the blue roll sitting in the tank:

But the correct answer is what the tank manufacturer recommends. Mine wanted me to use 3/4 Styrofoam insulation board......no thank you.

would (2) sets of these work to move a 150g 12mm thick aquarium?

edit link

They should as the tank seems to be around 300 pounds. You definitely need two sets though to allow enough hands to lift the beast. You may also want to check with local rental/glass/moving companies as some of them rent higher-quality units and you will probably (hopefully) not need them again for many years. Good luck with the new tank and Merry Christmas.

I received my Modular Marine overflow. I’ll take it apart tomorrow to make sure the glass cutouts on the tank match up with the tubing on the overflow

I couldn’t sleep this morning. I came over to the tank and saw a brittle star that came in with a live rock order from 2023. At that time he was 1” tip to tip. I haven’t seen him since. I was put back when I saw him this morning. His disk is a little bigger in size to a US quarter. Hope he’s safe to be in the tank.

Edit: He is climbing up the front glass....measured him....approx 16"

Hi! I am Diana. I am a new/old member on here. I signed up for my own account today. I had been sharing my son's account since he signed up some time ago. I have been reef keeping since 1995. I had upgraded to a 90g and then my son @DaveNJ wanted my 90g. So I bought a 40b and had been using that for 3 years. This past May I lost all of my corals due to a salt issue. I have been an avid Red Sea Pro user. I bought (2) 200g boxes of a different brand from a group buy. The first box elements were fine. When I got to the second box of this different brand, I had no idea that the elements were off drastically. I never thought that besides testing with my refractometer that I should test my elements with a new batch of salt. I did a water change with the salt and got my salinity to 35. Day 2 I see corals acting oddly. Check salinity and it's spot on. By day four my corals were died. After this craziness I thought of checking all the elements. I found them either extremely high or low. I was in shock. I then checked the batch of left over saltwater mix that I had used for the water change....same results..they were off extremely. I then mixed up another batch to 35 salinity, and got the same results yet again. I will never go back to this brand, and will stick with Red Sea Pro. I am currently upgrading my 40b to 75g. I like the water volume of the 90g but hate the depth of 90g. I would love a 90g that is the height and length of the 75g but deeper. My new 75g tank will be coming from @Aquarium Care Center llc here in NJ. The owner John and his crew are great! The 90g and 40g I had been using a Fluval FX6. This will be my first go at a sump. I decide to try my hand at a sump kit. I was afraid that once I filled the tank with water, the acrylic baffles would expand and crack the tank. I ran it for two days with no problems. I will be on my way back to @Aquarium Care Center llc now that I didn't have an issue with the sump build, I will be back to see John. I have been slowly building my corals again. I had lost a total $1092.82 from the salt issue. Here are a few shots of what I currently have.....

@Superrmario Thank you...much appreciated

Regarding to John, he went out of business about 2 years ago. When he moved to his new location, things went south. The new location was on a side street not to far from where Tropiquarium was located. No one new it was there.

Thank you for stopping by!

In my tank I have 3 wrasses:

Radiant Wrasse (Stymie)
Yellow wrasse (Spanky)
Blue Star Leopard (Dennis the Menace)

I purchased a Icecap fish trap for two reasons. 1) to catch Dennis the Menace and 2) eventually, I’m gonna have to move all the fish to the new display tank

Dennis the Menace only allows Stymie to occupy 1/4 of the DT. There are times during the day when Dennis the menace would go over to Stymie’s area to harass her. As soon as I look over the tank, Dennis the Menace knows I caught her and she goes flying back to her side of the tank. She knows she’s not supposed to do that.

I placed the trap towards the top of the tank the way the instructions provided. I left it in there one week without food so they would get used to the box being inside the tank. Week 2 to week 4 I placed food in the tube to entice them to come in. The Wrasses would not go near it, but the Cardinals both would go inside. When the yellow wrasse was near the box opening a few times, Dennis the Menace would nose the side of the yellow wrasse so she wouldn’t go in.

Weeks five, I placed the box on the sand while they were sleeping. I don’t know if I would ever been able to trigger the door to close with it being that far down. But yet again no one would go in. The box stayed on the sand for three weeks.

I like your fish names...the Little Rascals/Our Gang and Dennis the Menace.....two shows of my youth.

I'm not familiar with that fish trap, but have had great success with a simple bottle trap....a 2 liter bottle would be perfect for Wrasse. Now here's the secret....punch a hole in the side of the bottle that will fit the end of a Turkey baster. Pick a scrumptious food....I like mysis...and now starve your fish for two days. You can leave the trap in the tank while starving the fish so they get used to it. Now prepare your mysis and suck some into the Turkey baster. Squirt it into the hole in the bottle and leave the baster in the bottle. When the fish approach the bottle, squirt the Turkey baster, creating a snow globe effect of mysis in the bottle. They see the mysis and rush into the trap.

Came here to follow your build, I appreciate your follow on mine!

Honestly jealous about the Radiant Wrasse seeing they are a hard one to find! Been wanting one for YEARS! Hows the fish trap working for you?

I received two DMP 40 and the return pump for my new 150 build.

I have an ATI 8 bulb 48” to arrive next week, and a new ReefBreeders Meridian Edge bar to attach.

I have (6) 30 lbs bags of Tropic Eden reefflakes sand…hope it’s an easy wash.
