I watched a Reef builders video on the Clarisea Auto Roller Filter this morning and Im going to try it or one like it. Has anyone used the Theiling that @Bulk Reef Supply sells?
I cut the filter sock compartment for the Triton method, BIG mistake but thats another thread, so that leaves out the drop-in style. So far I am seeing filter WIDTH and FLOW are factors when deciding which to chose and foot print. Is there any other considerations I should note?
I am leaning towards this one due to footprint. Looking for feedback

Thoughts: The Rollermat has worked well in my system thus far, I am pleased with the lack of attention it needs in comparison to filter socks. Though not perfect, I think this piece of equipment is a good replacement for filter socks on tanks 40-100 gallons and 400-650 gph flow through the sump. On tanks below 400 gph, the filter chamber will likely become a settling chamber and not filter as efficiently as one would like. Over 650, it is likely the float could be modified (raised) to allow more of the filter material around the drum to be exposed to the water. If this modification was accomplished, I think the rollermat could attain up to 800 gph without exposing the new/used filter rolls to the new water level.
The smaller R/M I am considering has a max flow of 500 gpm. So on a 85-90 Gal system is a bit undersized.
Just to note: here at work, the liquid pours over a weir THREW a filter above the water line then the fluids return to the system.
