Any idea what these bubbles are? They have been there for over a month.

It a gas bubble if you don't pop it the flesh will recede and when it does pop the skeleton will be showing and look horrible. Read a lot on the Web about it for you.
Bubbles like this might be an attempt at reproducing. I would just let nature take it's course and hold off on popping them.

Never seen this. Anyone know if a high flow environment has anything to with it, or just gas under the skin? Do you have high flow in the aquarium where this occurred? Just curious.
I’m experiencing the same thing but with a chalice. I’ll have to check out that article.
So 7 months have gone by since I removed the first bubble. It took a long time to recover, and the eyes where I popped it are still not normal. However I let the one on the backside of the Favia continue to grow and it looks like it is creating a new daughter colony next to it.
On the lower left you can see the scare from where I tried to pop it.
This is the backside of the colony where I left it alone. It looks to me light it is developing eyes to eventually split.
Anyone else experience this? I have had Favias "drip" daughter colonies, but never like this.
