Has anyone been able to find a reasonably priced source for the water filters that go at the end of the tube on Alkatronic and mastertronic?

I just dip the ones I have in acetone, then boiling hot water, and blow them out with high compressed air once a week after testing.

I bought a dozen of these for $10.

Yeah that is what I was wondering. I ended up buying one from BRS for now until I figure out something better. I got mine used so it didn't have the filter.

I did find these not sure if they would be good enough?

So I ended up using the silicone baking sheet and the round cutting die for the vial septa caps. The only thing I noticed is some of the reagents eat the silicone. So I got some thin PTFE and had some luck gluing the two together using either plain silicone or using Heptane based activator and superglue. The down side with the superglue is it sticks almost immediately.

On AliExpress you can buy silicone septa with a PTFE layer on one side. They are 3 x 22mm.

Anyone have a working link for replacement inner tubing for Alkatronic pumps A/B/C/D?

If Focustronic and BRS thinks I’m paying $40 for a foot of tubing they can pound sand. ;)

Someone on Facebook says it is 3/5mm.

Here are my notes for Alkatronic tubing, in case it helps others:

Alkatronic tubing:
  • Pump C external tubing is 1.6mm silicone
  • Pumps A/B/D external tubing is 3.2mm silicone
  • Pumps A/C internal tubing is “Jihpump #14” or 1.6mm ID / 4.8mm OD
  • Pumps B/D internal tubing is PharMed BPT 3mm ID / 5mm OD

Stupid question but couldn’t you just use 50mm needles and replace the reagent sooner since it won’t reach as far into the vial as the 60mm needles?

Just started using 1M HCL for the preparation of Reagent for Alkatronics. Getting exactly as Hanna. So far was using Sulphuric acid from Coral Vue and wasn't that exact. But this is cost effective and also exact readings. 1M HCL is cheaper as well.

where to get the IM HCL and what is the recipe to mix this?
I’ve been using HCl for several years. Here’s my recipe to make 5 liters. I buy mine on Amazon.

To make 5L of alkatronic reagent

100 ml 1M HCl plus 4900 ml water

Instructions:

  1. Fill a 100 ml volumetric flask with 1M acid
  2. Put the acid in a 1L volumetric flask and fill to 1L with RO water
  3. Add the solution to the alkatronic feed container.
  4. Add 4 more L RO water to container.
