That's different; it's just not fully open
How do you know my item in question is just not fully open in my pics. It’s been going through a split, which typically results in torches not extending fully

I can tell because it's clearly a torch (thin tentacle stalks, spherical acrospheres) but the tentacles are too short. You said yourself that it's not fully extended. The oral disc is also deflated, which is another sign.
