Yup. Secluded to the fuge and isolated my gsp as soon as realized what they would do. It's gorgeous and has tons of movement in tank, just a lil invasive and takes up real estate in tank quickly.

Razor blade and cut the purple mat. Pretty resilient. As always, I don't recomend cutting in tank. Good or bad, idk, just never liked the idea of cutting in my display tank.

So what put the rock in a bowl of tank water and do it outside the tank?

Exactly. Here's how I do it:
Have a bowl of tank water, a bowl of coral dip (to prevent infection).
Pull the rock and place on clean cutting surface.
Use a clean sharp razor to cut excess mat off rock trying to cut between polyps.
Dip the frag and glue to a plug or small rock.
Dip the colony.
Rinse both in tank water after dip.
Return to low light and low flow area to allow to heal.
Was the first coral I fragged and don't think I could have killed it if I tried.
Just be sure to keep it moist and not to let it dry out.

I glued my GSP on the back wall of the tank. Looks cool and easy to keep in check.

The back wall was going to be my suggestion but AdamPhe beat me to it lol. I had some in my first tank that I didn't attend to have grow up the wall that did. I had the rock on the sand to keep them in check but it was touching the glass. I love gsp but haven't had the nerve to put then in my current tank because of their growth. I've got mostly lps, sps, and zoas now.

I must say though, if your tank is acrylic, you might not want to put the razor on it to keep them in check if you do decide on a back wall gsp garden. Razor blades and acrylic don't get along with each other very well.

How do you trim them?

Never cut grass? Take a lawn mower and trim it that way. :D:D

You cut it with a razor blade and can frag the trimmed piece.

You can just cut and pull them off. I use a razor blade and tweezers. That's one coral you don't want on your rock work
