I have a fungia/plate Coral that started to change color about a week ago. I just did a water change yesterday, and tucked it under a rock to reduce the amount of light it's getting, as I was wondering if it was bleaching.

When I moved the coral, I noticed that the skeleton was exposed underneath the sand all the way around the coral.

Can anyone gas as to what's going on with the coral?

I did have a sea hair die and the released quite a bit of phosphate. I have been working on getting it down. I don't know what the number is right now, as I just did a water change but I'll do a test shortly.

I thought I would post a couple pictures and see if anybody could give me any ideas of how to help the coral.

All of my other corals are looking really good.

I've had a few plate corals in my time and have never had much luck with them - but I've always thought it was because of my conches hitting them. I've personally never been able to revive them after they've had tissue loss as extensive as yours. The best I could say is to put it in low flow and low light and try not to touch it much after that and hope for the best!

Thank you for the info. That's exactly what I have done. I am going to try and feed it reef roids, as it isn't interested in shrimp. I'll update the thread when I have more info.
