It really is a sad situation. I have met several troops from the nation of Georgia, and I live in Georgia the state. We have troops there now, have had troops for a while and support that country in many ways. My nephew who just got back from Iraq was almost sent there as his next deployment.
I live so close to Ft. Benning I do feel as I am in a war zone sometimes. I can hear the live fire exercises, sometimes it shakes my house the explosions are so big. I expect this to increase with Ft. Knox's armor and tanks being relocated to FT. Benning.
The question Jessica asks Yahoo above is really what alot of people outside the U.S. would expect us to ask. When I met a soldier from Republic of Georgia and I asked him where he was from, he was shocked to know I knew where that was. I guess my History degree and ability to retain otherwise useless information helps. An example of this is I know from somewhere I learned that Georgia is the origin of the mythical golden fleece. Who wants to play Jeopardy?
Nation of Georgia was almost admitted into NATO, could you imagine where we would be if that were the case. Also keep in mind that Georgia has an oil pipeline running thru it, dont know if it is a million or millions of barrels a day or not, but cut that off and see what happens to a gallon of gas here.
I just wish we would stop being the world's police for a second and work on fixing our own country.
LOL how could anyone even think that?
+1 we need to worryabout us for a llil bit not everyone else
