Had a 75 gallon reef tank with a 20 gallon sump for about 5 years then broke it down and sold it about 10 years ago because I was moving. I said I would probably never get another reef tank.

Two years ago I started a 29 gallon planted shrimp tank which I loved. Had a blast setting it up and getting everything dialed in. The tank has been running great now with healthy plant growth and a thriving RCS and Amano shrimp population.

A year ago I got the itch again and started a 65 gallon cichlid tank. Loved setting it up and getting everything running great and that tank is now thriving.

Fast forward to a month ago and I did what I said I wouldn’t do, started a reef tank. It is a 32 gallon Biocube. Got all of my equipment setup as well as the tank a couple weeks ago. I have already upgraded the lights to the Steve’s LED conversion kit which should arrive next week. I don’t want the lights to limit me on what I can keep. Also got the inTank mods for the Biocube including the refugium and media basket. Currently have chaeto in the fuge.

Currently doing a fish less cycle with ammonia and have ammonia and nitrite dropping and nitrates on the rise.

Let the fun begin.

Welcome... here’s something else funny that you’ll say: ‘I’ll probably never upgrade!’
