Goniopora dying?

Hello, reefers,
I have a goniopora frag and recently, it is not opening up like it used to. I saw this black patch on its skeleton. Is it dying? Does anyone know how to treat it?

Not dying but not happy.
Any new fish or shrimp that may be upsetting it?
You probably know this already. . . . Moderate light and flow, feed 1-3X per week. . . . . assure you are not getting false salinity and salinity is higher that youre reading.. . . . ph range of 8.1-8.3 and verify water temp also which affects salinity.

Haven't add any new livestock for a while, but I do see hermit crab walking across it on occasion.

My goniopora suddenly did this too. It's been like this for months but haven't died yet.

This is the reason many call gonis impossible to keep. They will thrive and grow for 6 months to a year then unexpectedly die

Ok. Hopefully, it can recover. Will try to feed it more to see if it comes back.

Not to put salt on the wound...
5 years, going strong. This was purchased as a colony back then, i do not target feed it.
Maybe your specimen is harder to keep, but i read that the red one is quite easy.
I think it's hit or miss with them.

What kind is it? The color is amazing. I have also heard they start to have have trouble at the one year mark. Hopefully it will pull through
