Hello Everyone,
Greetings from North Jersey (specifically the town aka "The Home of the Giants!'). Finally joined this forum and decided to get back into this lovely hobby. I have a nano-mixed reef that I ran for a little more than 3 years. Broke it down in 2019 when I moved and always wanted to start another reef tank but 50 gallons or larger. I recently came back from vacation in the Philippines and went on multiple snorkeling and dives; I even took a 4 day surfing class in Siargao... but, I think I will stick with diving to view corals and marine life.
That trip solidified my decision to start anew with a bigger tank. Surprisingly, in the Tri-State area, I noticed a lot of other reefers getting out of the hobby. I found several potential used reef tanks on Facebook Marketplace but specifically chose a seller selling an SCA 80-gallon cube tank, with a sump and stand. I can tell, the seller loves his tank but can no longer maintain it. I am lucky to have found his post on FB and soon will be acquiring his tank.
The sale is pending because I want to do the move right. I will be posting another thread to get insight on how to best tear down, move, and set up that tank.
Regards and Happy Reefing!
