Just wondering if this top part has to be submerged, didn't realize this heater would be too big until I got it. The part I'm talking about is circled in blue and the red line represents the water level.

There is an arrow on top with a line, that is the minimum water level, however it is able to be completely submerged.
edit: never mind looks like it's figured out lol

Have you tried cutting it in half to make it fit? Kidding, obviously.

For the next one, how constant is your water line? I like mine submerged, the more the better …. Just in case.

I'd be putting it in one of the back chamber of my aio tank so the water level never fluctuates. I just blindly bought this heater because it was bundled with a controller and I already use a 100w heater and that one is well below the water line so I assumed this one wouldn't be much bigger, but it's almost twice the size.
I'll be looking for a smaller 100w heater that us compatible with inkbird, let me know if you have any suggestions.

I hid one of mine in the DT behind the rock work so it's not visible - not recommended because now I have 0 access to it.

The other one I laid down in the sump next to the return pump so it preheats the water going into the DT. If I had to do it again, I'd definitely have it hidden in the DT but make it accessible.
