Hi everybody,

I got my first icp back, my tank is a little older than 6 months. I checked my wavemakers and return pump they’re not rusty or whatever. But my heavy metals are high, and I do miss some normal trace elements if I do read that correctly.

But I am not sure what to do. I do not dose anything at the moment. My osmose icp is coming in as well. And I use tropic marin pro reef salt.

The issue is my euphyllia still got retracting flash, and the hellfire and 24k are losing some color.

Could you help me?

Are you sure there are no metal parts in the system, such as a hose clamp or a brass fitting?
Thank you for answering!

I just checked the skimmer pump as well, but there`s no rust there. And the only hose clamps I used are from plastic. The only metal is in my aquarium is the returnpump and the skimmer pump. But that is covered. The fleece filter is all plastics.

I used aquaforest bio sand, I did get second hand dry rock. But I did the whole bleaching process.

The thing I do find weird is that if I am correct if there is a big metal leach that your inverts will suffer right? But my shrimp and snails are blooming. I even got 4 trochus babies.

If u get anymore tips or stuff I should look at please let me know! I have been following your posts for a while already, so its all welcome :) Thanks again!

I am not certain there’s good data on exactly what levels cause problems for which organisms, and iCP testing is only a part of the story as it cannot distinguish chemical forms.

Is there any actions I should take or wouldn’t you know? I do understand that you got to find the source, but no clue what it could be other than my rock or sand. Or the mysis/krill I feed.
