ABSOLUTLY I waited about a year . Certainly not saying you have to wait tat long. But pairing fish was a leap of faith . Ended up asking my sole owner LFS guy . I also shied away after losing one in QT because I messed that up some how. Ended up buy ing7 at once and just acclimated and waited. except for a vicious Lyretail that chased two other lyretails out in as many days They all survived except the Diamond sand sifting Goby that my Vlamingi Tang chased out onto the floor when it became huge , and became the Tank bully. So yes caution and research . As to Coral I was doing a lot of research , and it became a huge task for me being an ignoramus about them . I finally found a website that described ease of keep , water flow , and light requirements. Even then some did not make it after trying quit a bit playing with placement and flow some took right off. Overall still not happy about experience's. Also discovered that my Aquascape was garbage . Not enough places to mount to get proper light. Even had help by someone else . So again caution advisedWelcome to Reef2Reef!
Your off to a great start, having patience before adding corals and fish can be the hardest part!
