Hello! I’m new here!!! My husband and I got a small saltwater reef tank almost 2 years ago! We currently have 2 clown fish, goby and two other small fish that I can’t think of what they are called!!! We also have a fresh water tank we have had for 5 or six years! And we have cats, dogs and birds! A houseful!!!

I hope it’s ok to ask this question along with my introduction! Not too sure of how posts should go being a newbie to the forum!

The morning after we did a water change to the saltwater tank, I turned on the light to see how everything was and I saw these small white worm like things all over the rocks and a few in the corners of the tank! They quickly hid after a few minutes of the light being on!
So who can tell me what they are and what I need to do about them if anything?

When you say small, how small are we talking? Could have possibly been pods of some sort.

Thank you all for the wonderful welcome!!!

Unfortunately I can’t get a picture cause they hide too quickly! But they almost resemble a centipede but they are whitish creamy color

They are look to be various sizes...... but they hide so quickly it’s hard to get a really good look!

Yup, sounds like pods to me ;) best bet would be to try to snap a pic of the tank at night, that's when they come out :)

Welcome to R2R!

Centipede would seem more like bristleworms to me. Maybe even isopods. A picture would help. Try to get a picture when the lights are down with a flashlight. If you have a red light, you could probably see them better when the lights are out and they will not run away.

I’m hoping they are not bristleworms as I hear they are not good to have in the tank!! I will post a pic as soon as I get one!!!
Bristleworms are absolutely good to have in a tank :) they're a great part of your clean up crew, they're just bad to touch lol
