Help creating static IP for Apex.

If the ip configured in the router and the apex match, no.

They do match. It stays connected to the new IP for a little bit and then disconnects. I may just have to hard wire this thing.

I found what the IP address was assigned to the APEX via fusion. I was just unclear before I found it which device was actually the apex based on the names in the list that the router gave to me.

I think you can see and change what it is when you go to apex.local in your browser.

Now I feel like I’m hosed. I setup the static IP. Set up the address in fusion. Everything matched. Was connected for a bit. Now no fusion access. My router was showing that device address was off. Now I can’t get back into fusion to turn DHCP back on. Any ideas to be able to get back into fusion?

Miraculously I was able to get back into fusion. Turned back on the DHCP. I’ll be running a hardwire and stop screwing with this now!!

Went through all day with no disconnects. Then tonight went haywire again. I disconnected my dos and trident to see if that’s where the problem is. Which I doubt. One last question and I’ll leave y’all alone.
If I hardwire the unit to my router will all these issues go away? For instance if it is a module connected to the brain will the hardwire bypass the module trying to connect to WiFi? Or would I still need to replace the module that is causing the disconnects? If it’s the brain, would the issue go away with hardwiring?
I guess that’s like 6 of the same question.
My electrician is coming this week to route the Ethernet cable to the tank.

I may have to dig in with att. We Got upgraded to att fiber a few months ago. No connection issues until a power outage a few days ago. I can unplug the apex and it will reconnect but usually loses a module when I do that. The connection has only been lasting about 24 hours.

You nvr had any issues prior to the fiver upgrade? i think you jumped into this too deep too fast. Apex fusion hardware doesnt require much for it to work. You need to take a look at the logs on your router and see why it is disconnecting. Always check logs first and troubleshoot from there. Sometime isp re-use previous router from other ppl. also, make sure your Apex Fusion time and date is correct to your local time. You can also try calling your isp and explain to them what is happening and possibly get a replacement. good luck and happy reefing.

I actually changed the SD card within the apex head unit and it fixed the issue. Super easy to do.
