I need some help identifying the coral that is pictured. I was given this piece by a neighbor who decided to move and could not remember the name or type of coral that this was. I've tried searching, but I'm new to this hobby and am having a hard time finding something similar.

Thanks for any help!

Thank you both for the replies! It was given to me this way, but now that I know what it is, I can move it to an appropriate place in the tank where hopefully it can start to come back and eventually thrive!

That is a goniopora not an alvepora
Probably G. lobata or stokesi
I appreciate the information! Once i get a chance tonight, i will do more research. But form a quick search, i see that they perfer more light then alvepora. Its currently at the bottom 2/3 of my tank with 105 par. It seems to be doing well there, so i my just leave it alone and see how it does over the next week or two. Thank you guys again for your input.
