So I’m a computer dinosaur.......I can turn my computer on and turn it off, and proud of that, but that’s about the extent of my computer knowledge.

So all my photos are in Google Photos, and every time I want to use one on R2R, I first save it to my computer, and then are able to add it to a post by using the “attach files” (paperclip icon) button.

However, I’ve got to believe I would be able to go directly from Google Photos to R2R, but I can’t figure it out??? What do I need to do to do this? Is it possible?

You should be able to. I have tried, but I attached a couple of pics to help.

I'm kind of in the same boat. I consider myself an ITM (Information Technologies Moron). I Email pics from my phone to my computer, then save them to a file on the desktop and open them on R2R using the little picture icon. I'm sure I'm taking the scenic route. So if anyone has good advice, please use small words and proceed as though you are explaining to a very young child.

1. Open Google Photos in Chrome or Firefox on a PC* or Safari on a Mac
2. Browse to the photo you wish to share on these forums.
3. Click the photo to enlarge it.
4. Right click and copy the image URL (Chrome = Copy image address, Firefox = Copy image location).

* this fix will not work with MS Internet Explorer or MS Edge.

Your image URL will now be very long and random looking, something like this

I do not use google photo but if I do this on the site I do use I get this
this is the direct link to the photo. The photo resides in a public album I put photos in to share.
In the second grouping in the post creator at the top is insert image. You have two options. Choose the one that looks like a paperclip and post the link in the box

This photo is being " hosted" by my SmugMug account and not Reef2Reef. My photos do not charge R@R for the space to store them. They are also able to be much larger.
For example the photo above my post is hosted here.
I copied the photo location the same way I posted above and I can repost the photo.

WooHoo! Got it. Thanks @WVNed ! .....you're the best!!! :)

And to be clear so that it might help others......first click on the little icon that looks like a scenic picture (insert image). Now click on the paper clip and paste the link you copied. IT WORKS!!! Thanks again, that will save a step.

To post a video from YouTube you go 3 right of the insert image button to the 3 little dots. A drop down menu appears, click on media and paste a similar link you get by clicking share on the video page to a youtube video.

Option 2 ask for everyone address and mail a copy of the picture. In this method you can personally sign them and number for limited release. And 10 years from now maybe they will be on marketplace for sale. ;)

Option 3. Pay to have you photos hosted somewhere without file size restrictions.
Why?
Click on this pic

The picture appears in a new page and there is a magnifier on the top right so you can zoom in.
You can share a pic in 4K
