System up and running for around 8 months.

Currently im adding about 20ml every morning of red seas alk powder mixed up as a full strength liquid as per brs.

As for calcium, I add it sporadically atm as I havent tracked usage yet. But its very low.

Ph is hard to gauge on my salifert test kit but its almost always darkish green so im assuming its 8+ when I test.

Im wanting to start dosing kalkwasser and im looking for a budget friendly doser to use.

I was all set to order the kamoer x1 but then I thought what if I want to dose another liquid in the near future....I know I could add another x1....

Is the wifi/Bluetooth really needed? I came across the simplicity doser and seems to get good reviews and the price is right. Is the simplicity rated for continuous?

What do you all feel you're gaining from having wifi besides playing with it away from home?

Also should I really consider a stepper motor driven pump? Does everyone eventually want to drip constantly? Or is 12-24 doses per day sufficient?

Do most people use a ph controller? How do you prevent the ph from getting too high

Do a Red Sea reef dose 4 or something like it or you can do a Jebao WiFi dose with 3 or 4 heads and is budget friendly but there is others out there

I would love the red reef dose 4 head after seeing reviews but I have 2 other very expensive hobbies on the go as well 😆

Is having wifi on a doser make it or break it for you guys?

As far as jebao goes, I have 2 of the dmp ecotech knockoffs and im extremely impressed with them for the price. I dropped 1 dry side on the floor twice now from about 4 feet and it still works great.

Strongly considering the simplicity unless someone can steer me away. 4 heads + a replacement head for $200cad.

I've used the kamoer x1 pro t2 for years now for kalkwasser with success. It does have an app as well as a screen to manually control speed. I'd highly recommend.

I don’t really care about the wifi tbh, bluetooth would be fine, the thing that I like about it is it’s easy to set up smooth microdosing schedules

I would probably even be OK with a doser that configures directly on the unit, or via USB etc, as long as it’s not a pain in the butt to set up schedules like “5ml per day across 24 hourly microdoses” or “4ml per day across 12 bi-hourly doses” etc

I could see how bluetooth could be handy so you're not reaching under the cabinet. My jebao wavemaker pumps have Bluetooth but I find i never play with it.

I love simple and cheap is a bonus.
For kalk one of the brs drews dosers on a $15 digital timer is what I used for 6 years. Less than $100 for everything. The doser was solid during that time and is now doing duty as an ATO pump on a little nano. I used the 50ml pump because I was dosing 7200ml daily. I find the 1/4" tubing much better suited for kalk than the tiny tubing used on a reef dose or kamoer doser. I've used the kamoer and have a reef dose 2 in service. They both work great but I never felt the tiny tubing was suited for kalk and I only used them for 2 part and AFR.

My kalk only tank on the brs doser
