I just got my icp test back r/o water checked out all good. My tank water came back good except ,super high aluminum. My tank is 2 years old with all new equipment. Not sure we’re the issue may be . Any recommendations or help would be appreciated. Also is there a media that I can use to remove this aluminum from the water column. Ideal value: 0.10 µg/l
My valve is 75.65 µg/l. Thanks

Following along, as I'm using aluminum screen frames for my lids and have been wondering if there's any way for it to leach into the tank through splashing, etc.

Do you have biomedia? I had a similar issue with my tank and turns out it was leaching from my bioballs. Apparently the new polyp lab ones aren't supposed to due to being mfg differently. I got them for my new tank to test but its not fully up and running yet

In my experience that value is not of concern.

If you have ceramic biomedia, remove them.

Is the aluminum valve not an issue and toxic to the corals . After removing the bio media. Are water changes the only way to bring down the value.

My tests suggest higher values are needed to see clear tox effects. But best to be safe and remove sources, IMO. Levels will likely decline naturally.

Thank you so much for the assurance that those levels are not to worry about. I removed the biomedia . And I will do a 10% water change currently. It is due for a water change. I appreciate all your help.

I had high aluminum and turns out the magnetic motor piece in my less than 1 year old maxspect gyre was cracked, rusted, and leaching into the water. The only way I figured it out was eventually the motor started acting up and I broke it down to try and repair it.
