I take care of a tank for someone who doesnt want to do it for themself and its a huge 6ft long acrylic tank. I CAN'T stand cleaning this darn thing. it takes forever just to scrape the algae off and I have to use a plastic edge just to do it. My tank is glass and takes me about 1min to clean. got any helpful tips?

Don't do this untill its confirmed to be safe but I know of several folks who use the mr clean spot remover pads. Can't think of what they're actually called at the moment...

good start good start. anything will help me right now cuz i'm so tired of taking an hr just to clean the acrylic

I took a piece of scrap acrylic and made a wide blade out of it to scrape the inside. I had to end up cutting it down to put even pressure on it but it worked great. For the outside I use acrylic polish that comes in a spray bottle.

Mr. Clean magic erasers or the white acrylic pads by hand work great...
Ps. Plastic scrapers and scrap plex scratch the tank very bad!!!!! You might not notice it now but when you drain it hy moly!!!! Be prepared....

Get the Original Mr. Clean Magic Eraser (now P&G makes different types). I use this to clean all my tanks. The only thing it can't remove on glass is thick coralline algae unless you use alot of elbow grease.

+1 for the inside

for the outside i like to use plexus,it is a spray on acrylic polish that works great for cleaning the outside of the tank while leaving a coat of wax(so to speak)that is anti static so it repels dust.

Use a big magnet cleaner made for acrylic, but add a thin layer of cloth between the magnet and the acrylic on each side to prevent scratching...this is what is done with my uncle's twin 300g tanks
