I know some of you all can relate, this is a fairly common condition....Multiple Tank Syndrome.

Our house is up to three running tanks right now (we are not going to talk about empty tanks lol). I have a fourth that I am in the process of setting up. I was thinking of selling a tank and setting the new one up in its place...but I can't do it. Each tank has its own "personality".

One is full of "weed" corals. Xenia, GSP, GBP and a few fish and a ton of life in the sandbed. Another with a pair of clowns and their BTA and lots of mushrooms. The third is my daughters. All were bought as an established system.

The tank I am working on setting up will be the first one I have set up from scratch. Just trying to figure out how to rearrange furniture to accommodate the tank. Now I am thinking is this too much...if I just sold the one tank the new one can go in its place.

So, lets hear it.... how do you deal with MTS ;)

It's a unrecognized disease. I deal with it by upgrades. If I'm gonna get rid of one tank then the tank that is being torn down is gonna be put into an even larger tank Hahahaha that way I end up with the same amount of tanks they are just progressively getting bigger. Plus the tank I just tore down ends up in the closet because "I never know when I might need it"

Started with a biocube now I have a 220g SPS tank that drains into an adjacent room, my "fish room". Where the 220g drains into a 125g sump (the old SPS tank). Goes through the sump to the return that returns water to the 220g but is split off to feed the 55g peacock mantis/macro algae tank that drains back into the 125g sump. I built a table above the sump for a little work area, hides wires, mount controller stuff sits a 40g breeder anemone clown fish tank (has 5 nems in it so far). This tank is fed by its own pump that sits in the 125g sump. Drain line goes through the table same with the return. This is my 400g+ total water volume system.

Oh and those 3 tanks I put in the closest just got set up to breed aptaisa eating nudibranchs las week because I have a serious aptasia problem in the 220g display. Two tanks cycling for nudi breeding and 1 for aptaisa growing in hopes to keep up nudi breeding long after they eat all of the aptasia in the DT. So currently I have 6 tanks up and running intended for livestock. 3 on there own isolated systems and the other 3 sharing water with each other add the sump and I have 7 tanks in the basement. That's my man cave so the GF future wife can gripe all she wants but won't stop me because they are all out of sight hahahaha

Buy more tanks, until the wife says "I think you have enough tanks".
I think I reached that point this week when my husband started counting how many aquariums (wet or dry) are in the house lol

Plus the tank I just tore down ends up in the closet because "I never know when I might need it"
Exactly! And if you sell it you know how hard it would be to justify buying a replacement!

Umm is 15 tanks MTS? 6 of those over 100g and 3 of those over 300g, no problem here.
Yes, I do believe that would be considered MTS. But that sounds awesome and I think we need some pictures lol

I did have my water resevoirs and ato tubes (that run 60+ feet through my crown molding), set up before I unpacked my clothes.

I have four tanks in my living room. Lucky that our living room is quite large. I have a 55g. Goldfish tank, a 29g tetra tank, a 29g live bearer tank, and a 36g. FOWLR. I had a 5th one in here but it was only a 5 1/2g. Betta tank. The betta ended up passing, so I got rid of that one. I want even more, but my wife won't let me-lol.

Tear them down and consolidate into one bit reef. Filling it with corals should keep your from being able to afford other tanks.

Naw not really, geta few high end corals to start grow them a bit then trade away to a full tank, happens faster than you might think.

WIsh I still had those clams but alas they are long gone and now just rock, biggest thing is I have been in the hobby so long I can set up a system with spare parts. The most recent one with all my zoas, every piece of equipment and rock in the tank was free, only thing I have bought are a few of the fish and some zoas. Gotta love Craigslist.
