I honestly don’t know if this will end up being a net ‘win’ for Aperture overall in the long run, hard to guess. But I agree it will benefit non-BRS vendors at least in the short term. I don’t “hate” BRS now and I certainly won’t “boycott” them, but if they choose not to carry a product line I’m interested in, it moves them down on the list of my preferred etailers. And of course they directly lose sales on any Hydros add ons I buy down the line.

My business brain says this makes all the sense in the world for Aperture. Apple doesn't sell Android phones on their website. So we can't be surprised they don't want to sell Hydros and GHL controllers. They would be foolish to not hype their own products and hide the rest. Logically I think they also probably begin discontinuing redundant products. Still weird to me that they have Ecotech, Neptune and AI all selling competing lights and pumps. They need to be careful though, solid messaging is incredibly important or they risk spooking their current users.....like me hahaha
The Sicce SDC can be controlled within the Hydros without any wired connection but the communication is limited to how many command in a given time on the Sicce cloud since that is the way they communicate. I have the Sicce SDC 3.0 and control it with my Hydros collective. The X2 will control it. Each controller or collective is allowed 8 wifi devices. The Sicce would become one of those. I am not familiar with any of the other things you mentioned since I don't have any of those. On Kessil lights you can plug them into the wifi outlet to power them on or off. If they have a 0-10v input the can be controlled with a Hydros controller with 0-10v outputs which I think are wave engine v2 and X4 at this time. As for heaters I did power them from a wifi power strip before getting the XP8 but even on the XP8 I used heaters that had their own thermostat internal and I set them about 3 degrees above the 77.5 degrees I have the Hydros set to. I do that as a backup off. For heaters use 2 and always have a backup off for them. I have my two heaters on different outlet on the XP8 and they were on 2 different outlets on a wifi power strip when I used that. I set one to come on .1 degree lower than the other and set both to go off at the same temp. So if it is not too cold one will not get much use. You can also go with the InkBird and use the Hydros as a backup off. There are quite a few that do that. If you have a ATO then that would free up one of the sense ports for something else like a leak detectors. Hydros has two of them one is a point leak detector and the other is a rope type leak detector. So you might keep that in mind unless you have another use. The drive ports are 12v DC outputs and Hydros has small pumps and solenoids that can be powered using them. So you could always use the with a couple of simple dosers if you are going to dose something.
MAP needs to be a thing of the past as it sucks for consumers but that’s for another discussion.
