I am coming back into the hobby after an almost 6 year break do to health issues. Since so much has changed in the last few years I started looking around at some of the new equipment that’s out there and came crossed the Hygger HG042 inverter wave maker . My tank is 60x24x24 150gallon and Inhave two of these on either side of the tank . I have to say I am very impressed with the flow and the noise level . They are a lot quieter then my old mp40s I used to run and take up about the same space in the glass . Are they as good as my old Tunze no but at 79.99 a piece I will be ordering a few more for the tank . If your on a budget and want a quality built pump I would give them I shot . I don’t think you will be disappointed. I am going to try some more of there pumps and see how they are .

Also a big fan of the jebao pumps. Mp's are over hyped imo

I tired the jebao RW pumps in the past but never had them make it past the 6 month mark

I’m liking Hygger over Jebao too. I kept losing Jebao gyres every 2 years due to the impeller bushings wearing out and getting very loud. The Hygger ones are a different design and seem to hold up better so far.

Mine are about 7 years now with little to no maintenance

I use said hyggers x2 units (HG042). These were a replacement for my XF350 gyre's. I have one on each end on a 59" long tank. These are super quite, easy to program (when not using the default programs).... and when cranked up, can move tons off water...I run at at approx 50%....set and forget. Using them almost 3 years now, no issue's.
NOTE: Not so easy to disassemble for cleaning, especially when coraline starts growing on them. Would buy again in a heart beat.

I am about to find out . I have a 25w one coming to try on my 5ft long tank .

They are super quiet for me at 100%. I can not even hear them when I am right next to my tank . I think all pumps get that way when coraline starts growing in them .
