Its a good unit with high quality filters and a treated and tested RO membrane. A lower micron absolute rated prefilter such as Spectrapure uses does a much better job of protecting the carbon block than a higher micron nominal rated one.
Since the carbon is protected better it will perform better, last longer and does not require multiple carbon blocks to do the same job. Less money out of your pocket both in capital cost and in replacement costs in the future. With the membrane treated and tested it picks up a percent or two in rejection rate or removal efficiency and for every 2% you increase the efficiency you double the life of your DI resin. Anothe rbig cost savings in reduced resin replacements not onl from that but from their custom blended DI resins which perform better and last longer virtually doubling the lifespan or more.
Spectrapure uses capillary tube flow restrictors which you yourself take a few minutes to trim or adjust according to your exact water conditions rather than a one size fits all fixed type flow restrictor which is rarely correct.
