This is one of the first acros I bought maybe 3-4 years ago and I suck at keeping records so I can't remember what it is. I bought a couple of high end pieces when I started and am wondering if this is one. I'm curious more than anything. Its a very slow grower. It started to stn in the previous tank so I cut it and moved it out to my sps tank. Its growing slowly still but it's growing and also coloring up a bit. Its been in this tank for about a year now but only glued down for 6 months or so. It's getting close to 500 par under 2 photons if that matters.

No chance at a ID until it begins to push out new growth. Give it a little snip or scrape some tissue might kick it into gear
Agreed… I have a little coral that couldn’t myself 🤣. This thing is going on 3 years and still hasn’t budged after cuts, scrapes and moving it to 3 different locations.,, I’m not sure I’ll ever know what it is lol..

There's always that ONE.. Idk what it is that makes an acro go into that dormant phase where they can sit for years and just turn into a blob and do nothing. I think it has something to do with where the frag came off the original piece, or at least thats a factor that plays into it. Doesn't matter if it was wild, mari, or tank grown.. colonies always have sections with actively growing axials and other parts that are healthy but not actively growing anymore. Maybe those areas lack a specific enzyme where they are more concentrated in the growth tips.

I'm blessed with a of couple stagnant pieces lol. My other is a Pink Floyd frag that hasn't fully encrusted the plug in 2 years. I cut the vertical branch off a few days ago and glued it to a rock and left the encrusted plug on the rack so we'll see how it does. I'm only a few years into sticks so learning as I go. I did have another piece from the one I posted above that was doing poorly as well so I chopped it up and got 3 small nubs so I'll keep my fingers crossed and maybe some day I'll get one decent sized piece but I'm not overly optimistic.
