Was doing a deep clean today and noticed these pulsating in my tank. For reference it and IM fusion 40. This was in the rear chamber. Im stumped.

Give the video a look and please let me n ow what you think. That giant clump of algae is now gone. I was trying to create a little algae scrubber area in the rear chamber. Didn't work the way I wanted.

They are hydroids i have had them in my return chamber for years now. Im under the impression they are not harmless because i havnt had any issues so who knows lol there pretty cool tho

Nice. So they are harmless. I was a little worried. Where do they come from.

You brought it in on something. It's the medusa stage of a hydroid.

Do I need to get rid of them or are they really harmless.

Sabella is right, they are harmless unless you're raising fry or find them in your pod cultures.

I'm curious how long they will survive in the back chamber. Sabella how long have you been able to keep them alive.
