Just added to the clean up crew today and noticed this on the glass. Anyone know what it is?

asterina star, most are harmless, but every once in a blue moon you can get one that eats zoas. Usually nothing to worry about, just unsightly when they start getting all over the glass. But I think they're cute, so I catch them and put them in my fuge.

Thank you do they multiple?
Yes, they split in half rapidly, to the point where you'll likely never get them out. But you shouldn't worry too much, if you think you have too much just pick out a few.
There's actually a gorgeous shrimp that eats these guys called the harlequin shrimp

Problem is that it only eats starfish. But if you have a refugium you can cut limbs off of chocolate chip starfish and farm them for food (as these guys quickly decimate the population (there's always one left in the rocks or somewhere though, so they're never really gone). But if you can farm chocolate chip starfish, these guys make a gorgeous addition to a reef, and are great at controlling asterina populations.

Well I picked it out so hopefully it's the only one that got in with the clean up crew I just added today. Thank you every one for your help.
