Is it good or bad ?

They are mostly good. They can kill other inverts and fish but less like with fish. Get a shrimp goby if you want to see a cool partnership. I have a yasha goby and tiger pistol shrimp living together.

wondering where it comes from. i have a new setup (3 weeks) with dry rock and just added some bottle bacteria.

Very strange. I really doubt the pistol was a hitchhiker on that little leather but i cant figure out how else it got in there.
