Hi,

There is a weird singular tendril which seems to live under a fragment of coralline. It only comes out when I turn the lights off and shrinks away when the light turns on.

It is normally longer than this however it is hard to get a photo when I turn the light on as it shrinks away so rapidly

Any help to identify this would be appreciated,

Thanks

Ohh, would that be related to the presence of these guys on the glass?

those are hydroid jellies.....They will usually go away on their own and don’t cause any trouble unless you have seahorses.

the digitate hydroids can be a bigger issue if they get out of hand.
