Internal bottom bracing?

Hi, had a quick question. I was wondering what the deal is with internal bracing? Ive seen a few tank builds where it looks like they made a eurobrace that goes on the bottom of the tank as opposed to the top. Does that work with acrylic or no? From what I understand 3/4" acrylic is whats needed to go rimless without bow. Problem is, thats expensive due to the thick acrylic.

If i went with a thinner acrylic, say 1/2". Could i use that internal bracing method to prevent bowing?

im not sure of them bottom bracing, but just because your tank is 3/4 does not mean it can be rimless.
the thickness would depend on the height and length of the tank.

if you used 1/2 acrylic you would not be able to do rimless. it would need a top rim

Internal bracing doesn't do much for acrylic tanks. The main problem with acrylic is bowing causing seam failure. Placing an internal brace on the bottom will not prevent bowing.

i had a acrylic 3/4" 400g 8ft tank i cut in half and made a shallow reef i had to have center brace and i made corner braces i have pics somewhere if ur interested and for the inner bracing i have a 240 rimless that is braced with inner braces Its 3/4" glass though Glass cages . com tank
