So last night I did a big water change and brought up the salinity almost 3 ppm. I know it was probably stressful but i needed to do it. I have a 150 call on tank and 30 gallon sump I removed and replaced about 66 gallons last night. Woke up and added some seaweed and fed the goby.
The foxface rabbitfish is eating seaweed and still active but look at his tail.

am I just worried about nothing?!

It’s a viral disease As far as I know it’s not terminal, was most likely due to the stress of the wc, my blue tang had some but he never stopped eating and I never treated him and haven’t seen it in months but that’s my experience. @Jay Hemdal might suggest otherwise

It may just be the pictures but your foxface looks really skinny. Which stress and malnutrition I believe are common triggers for lympho.
Also did you raise your salinity by 3 ppm or 3 ppt. 3ppm is insignificant for salinity but I'm guessing you mean 3 ppt.

I'm not good with fish disease but I'd say lympho is a decent guess.

I agree it could be that's what it is. Hard to see though. What is the size of fish for perspective. Best thing focus on water quality and less stress. If it doesn't go away and is causing damage consider maybe using an antibiotic. Not much one can do for that virus.

Idk lol can you tell I am new?! I use the Hanna instruments salinity checker. Went from around 33.9 to 36.7. Didn’t mean to do that far but my calculations were off… I hope to bring it down slow so as not to nuke the tank with a tone of back and forth.

as for the Fox face… this is my second. The company sent me one and it lasted 3 days… was sick and couldn’t hardly swim. They sent me this one which I thought looked a little skinny but only today did I see him start really get to eating the nori I have in the tank. Tried a clip feeder for the first week wouldn’t go near it. After he cleared out all the algae I started putting the nori crammed into the rocks and he would nibble at them. Today he was eating well and moving about the tank a lot more! But then I saw those spots.

Those are pretty big lumps on a 4 inch fish. I doubt the salinity had much to do with this except aggravating it. Probably had it long before. Just watch out for spreading of this. Going down is not as big an issue as going up in salinity if its fish only. You should have no extra problems going to 35ppt.

Did the spots appear suddenly, or did they grow in size over a few days?

It could be viral Lymphocystis, but those growths are more often on the edges of the fish. There is also a pustule called a Xenoma, those are usually round and smoother than Lympho.

Tough to see, but the fish seemed a bit skinny. Are you feeding it some good meaty foods like mysids?

All of a sudden. But last night after I got home it didn’t look as bad.

it’s more rounded and they are pretty big spots for the size of the fish. They did shrink a little.

I have tried feeding mysid a few times he has only ever taken it 1 small piece. He normally spits out anything meaty of either shrimp or flakes.

White spots are gone as of this morning the foxface just doesn’t have the full color he has been.

Lymphocystis or xenomas won’t come and go in a day like that. The spots are too large o be ich, but that will come and go like that.
