Is this WYSIWYG?

I think they may be the same. The very large polyp is present in both. Yours are under tank light and the vendor photo is heavily edited to make it look appealing. I have one vendor I'll order from online all the rest I don't even shop because of the heavily manipulated photos. I can't believe how many people ooh and ah over them like they're real.

I find it interesting that they over charged you on shipping then gave you store credit instead of a refund. Sounds pretty sketchy and a lot like a vendor i had trouble with in the past.

Those aren't even remotely close to the same polyp. I'm not sure what you're seeing but that larger polyp looks like nothing in the other picture and doesn't resemble any other polyp in the original pic. Take a closer look. They're not the same

It's similar and some are still closed, might be the wrong one tho, don't see the closed paly.

I can say Reef Chasers in Cleveland TN does not photoshop their corals.

I was about to order until i realized they were 1.25 hours away. Made the drive. Pulled up my cart and asked to see the corals. To my surprise they matched.

Also they pack their corals in sponge protectors and use plastic frag plugs that the shaft comes off. They are plastic.

They have good sales and prices too.

I have not received a shipment but i can say everything I’ve bought is still alive and no pests or issues. I do dip them though.

I hope they give you a refund or make it right.
They infact didn’t make it right or give a refund just 20% back for my next order. Spent it on dry goods and will never spend another penny aqua sd is a thumbs down

I was almost positive it was ASD when I read the first post even tho you didn't mention the name. They tried to pull some crap on me. I ordered 3 clams, they shipped two stating the 3rd wasn't healthy so they didn't want to ship it. The one they did not ship just happened to be the most expensive of the 3. They didn't ship it because it wasn't healthy yet they sent a gaping maxima that died in less than 24hrs. They informed me that their policy was to only issue store credit. I Informed them that they failed to deliver an item I paid for and if they kept my money it was basically theft. I ended up getting a refund and got nothing for the dead clam but I didn't even pursue that issue. I can't understand how they are still in business.
This is the clam they sent that died overnight but they didn't send the expensive one because it wasn't healthy. At least they were kind enough to include the free aiptasia.

This was my fiasco with ASD. Just adding as an alert to others considering buying from them .

My dad went to WWC and the guy at the store tried to sell him 2 adult blue hippo tangs, and 4 clowns. For a 54 corner. Granted my father isn’t educated in the slightest and it’s more me managing his tank. But I stopped him before he could check out. The guy who helped was young though. I’d definitely order coral from them tho. And tidal gardens is one of the few places I’ve never heard bad things since my incident with my zoas.
Where can I find frag swaps and such? Being new I don’t even know where to search for the information. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
I understand that there are many different people that work in the store, but that is different than my experience with WWC over many years. I have had them talk me out of fish or coral (or redirect me to others), because the one that I was leaning toward was not the best choice for my situation. I can remember a specific situation where I was wanting to add a specific tang and they redirected me from the one I was looking at to a Tomini.

I’m a local with a history good/bad with asd. I have visited their old and new locations and agree that they’ve dropped off since “back in the day”. The new way have things organized, their employees appear to have a hard time finding items. Also speculating but seems like a lot of churn; I’ve seen none of the seasoned reefers from the old location. Also used to see the owner all the time at the old spot- might just be timing but haven’t seen him once at the new.

When I was getting into reefing asd auctions were a lot of fun and something I considered a rite of passage; it might have just been my impression but they were one of the top online vendors and I felt privileged to live so close; I hope they right the ship.

This reminded me of a clam I got from divers den back when I was new… came exactly like yours- at the time I had no idea how to handle…. I started googling how to get aptasia off a clam and literally while I was searching my shrimp took care of things :) I remember wishing I could have filmed the moment.

Ya I have peppermints in the tank so the sick clam actually outlived the aiptasia lol

Pleased make sure to dip and inspect thoroughly anything from that vendor. They actually posted a picture of a zoa for sale with a spider in the picture.

Wow I hate these companies. It really is a shame.

Get an orange filter take a pic under blue lights. You will get the same pics. Here is mine under blue lights with filter…. No PS done to the pic. I don’t think they photoshopped anything. Same zoa colors but maybe diff batch.

After my last experience with them, I will never order from them again.
They zeroed out a frag I won on ebay for $.99 saying they were out of stock, even though they were literally selling multiples available on their site.
I had done a rather large order and anything that was wysiwyg with the exception of 2 frags, was wrong. I ordered 17 wysiwyg so 15 were wrong. I spent about $300 during there black Friday sale, and got a whole $58 store credit.
I had bought from them in the past, and didn't have many issues, but this was unacceptable. The reply I got was basically, Oopsie there's nothing we can do about it.
So yeah, don't order from them.

Wow, I am hoping new folks read this. Being a newer person (~6 months), I appreciate the information.

This can be an expensive hobby and spending good money and not getting what you see or what you think you paid for is a bit over the top and not good business.

I did my first online order (I've been buying local and +/- 2hour drives) and wanted to get a Torch so bad but the local stores don't really have what I've been looking for, I get my order tomorrow.

No, I didn't order from the subject of this thread, so I am excited to see what I get.

Thanks again and I am sorry they didn't make it right. It is like theft when they provide a product that is not what you ordered and refuse to give you the money back or major credit.

color is obv going to be different because they over edited their photo.. crappy vendors tend to do that..

I emailed them asking about it. I agree with it being just totally different and the colors switched. It’s a shame company’s take “pride” in this hobby to really only care about the money.
Hello there,
We’re so glad we could get this resolved for you. It looks like there was a mix-up on our end—our team accidentally grabbed a similar piece with matching polyps instead of the exact WYSIWYG piece you selected. This certainly isn’t the standard we aim for, and we’re actively working on improving our processes to prevent this from happening in the future.

We understand how important it is for customers to receive exactly what they’re expecting. Thank you for your patience, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to continuing to earn your trust!

You've been in business for years, isn't this something you should already have figured out?
