Is this WYSIWYG?

It’s not the same because in both pics the same zoa is at the bottom. But the top two are reversed

I'm my experience with this vendor, when they over charge on shipping, it's because they forgot or deleted a(n) item off your cart. Now they did rectify their mistake, but make sure you got everything you ordered. Store credit is a thing too, even here 2k miles away from vendor at my lfs.

Yeah bud, that's a thing with that vendor. Unfortunately. I have had dealings with them, and they are not wysiwyg. In any way, and if pressed they will admit it. Best practice is score a buddy on here and ask them to lay eyes on it from a vendor, then make an informed decision.
This is what makes online shopping hard. Some vendors like a certain one in Wisconsin, who has lotsa fish, don't have a store front. But they disclaim wysiwyg at least for livestock. Won't let you go and pick up from them either. They have to ship. Idk why. ‍♂️ I'm not a fan of alive arrive guarantees, seems like sketch as ****.

If you felt oh have been wronged. Y the vendor, either on accident or on purpose, simply make a polite post in vendor feedback and tag them, explain situation, add pictures, explain how shipping cost was wrong and why, explain how coral is different than expected if applicable, and just make a post and ask their brand rep to assist

They are very responsive in the vendor feedback section

If you squint at the bottom right corner of OP’s post you can see their logo, but if it’s too hard to see I can PM you the name
I'm pretty certain that my mind saw that artifact and it caused me to subliminally realize almost immediately what the source of the error is/was?

OP, can you set your rock on some eggcrate so we can compare square areas?

Sorry. This is seems to be the new operational standard for too many sellers, ime.

Omg I just realized I should mention—not sure if you dip corals before adding to the tank, but I got a colony from the same sale and I assume it came from the same tank, so I think it’s important to mention that my colony came with a bobbit worm hiding in it. Didn’t notice until I put the colony in the tank unfortunately.

AquaSD photoshop their pictures a lot. You can barely see the coral is the same coral. This thread, the rock has the same polyps types on it but not the same rock. That lone green polyp is different than that the other three types and not on the piece that got send to the buyer.

Yes I dip. I did theirs in a much longer dip. That’s terrible I’m sorry you didn’t see it. That’s my main fear ordering. Even if I dip im still overly cautious.

I’ll certainly put in on egg crate. I have some coming to my house Monday and will reply to this conversation with it. Do you think that’s .5” squares or 1”?

Yea I sent 2 emails now. One ended in a call and a promise for a call back within a few hours. My second email came from about 12 hours after that call asking for another call and saying it’s upsetting. I’ll certainly just handle things in the vendor section cause that certainly might be easier. Thanks for the tip!!

Yes I 100% agree it’s so sketchy. Having somone who’s able to get eyes on it is important to me now. Any recs? Till then it’s LFS but then again some around me aren’t the best. But I mean why would Memphis be known for its coral though. I will have this mistake made right even if I have to wear them down. But it’ll certainly be my last order from them.

Idk, man. It's up to you, honestly. Me ima stick to lfs and reef shows. If i can see it then I'll get it. I was sus of online and now I've been burned. So ima stick to tried and true. I might check out wwc or tidal gardens, cause I hear they are more legit, and I know people who bought from them.

I can say Reef Chasers in Cleveland TN does not photoshop their corals.

I was about to order until i realized they were 1.25 hours away. Made the drive. Pulled up my cart and asked to see the corals. To my surprise they matched.

Also they pack their corals in sponge protectors and use plastic frag plugs that the shaft comes off. They are plastic.

They have good sales and prices too.

I have not received a shipment but i can say everything I’ve bought is still alive and no pests or issues. I do dip them though.

I hope they give you a refund or make it right.

My dad went to WWC and the guy at the store tried to sell him 2 adult blue hippo tangs, and 4 clowns. For a 54 corner. Granted my father isn’t educated in the slightest and it’s more me managing his tank. But I stopped him before he could check out. The guy who helped was young though. I’d definitely order coral from them tho. And tidal gardens is one of the few places I’ve never heard bad things since my incident with my zoas.
Where can I find frag swaps and such? Being new I don’t even know where to search for the information. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

That’s another place I’ve heard great things about. I am a Tn native but all the good shops to me are on the other side of the state.(from Memphis) but I do go to the aquatic critter sometimes.

Reefing usa does a lot of shows. But i recommend dipping. I got flat worms from one of the shows cause I didn't dip.
If you're in the big cities, NY FL CA TX. REEFAPALOOZA is an option. Otherwise look on fb or google reef shows near me.
