Seems like my salinity dropped from 1.026 no clue how. Also my phosphate is high again since I fed reef roids last night and same with nitrates when I test tomorrow they should be back down.also I was taking my alk test wrong of salifert I kept putting 5ml instead of 4. My Hanna checker came in and my alk is 11.2 which is understandable since the kalk paste I put in tank. And that’s all she wrote :D

This can be a very confusing conversation. As I don't know if it applies to your situation and reading device.

May help decide if the temperature is at fault here. Also, was this the same method you always used? I know you had hana kit for phosphate, now I see this screen capture...

pretty much skip everyone and read what Randy Holmes says.

I use Hanna test kits for all test now besides nitrates I still have API for that but cal, alk, phosphate is Hanna checker. The screen shot up is where I log my test results could it be from all the testing ? That I’m doing I’ve been testing everyday for 3 weeks.

I find it hard to believe you used up enough water to drop the salinity by .02. I guess you could have. I say, just let evaporation take it's place, top off with matching water until you are back where you like. Take a little time. But safest route. 1.024 isn't a big loss from 1.026. No need to increase that right away. So, top off water should be between 1.024-1.025. You'll be at 1.026 rather quick.

Small systems are a pita.

If it’s not one things it’s another lol well good news is my dkh is 11 I do wanna drop that to 9 so hopefully coralline algae speeds up lol
My old system was 11 dkh. I couldn't keep hammers alive. I could keep blastos and frogspawns. Odd huh? 8-9 seems to be a hammer corals happy place.

i seen your cal at 400 ,bump that up to around 450,will help bring alk down,
also i would target .024-.025 in a small tank, .026 can get high quick ,2 days no top off ,going up too high.

Ah they ain’t so bad. If you don’t mind being on the razor’s edge 24/7. :)
I'm already there. took a 5 minute break yesterday, sat on my rear.... The husband let me know, our 3 yr old grabbed drinking glasses. He was going to throw them down the stairs.

I’m very interested to see if there’s a noticeable difference in stability with my new tank. I know 65g is still small to you guys but it’s triple my current water volume.

I think my old system was between 60-70g total water volume. Yes, much more stable over 50g volume. More rest and breaks. Less micro management.
