Thought I would share the growth progression of my homewrecker.

The first picture is from feb 14 when i originally purchased from another member

The next picture is from May 21, good growth but lacking color from low nutrients

And finally the last picture is from yesterday July 23 and I couldn’t be happier!

So you allude to your colors getting better with more nutrients, what were they and what are they now? I have super low nutrients and this HW is lacking color, despite very good growth.

Honestly my p04 ULR was reading 0 most of the time n03 0-.5, so I slowly changed some things in my system. I’ve never used GFO and never will however I did have some chaeto growing in the sump. I removed that and just feed rods food in the morning, nori in the afternoon usually every other day and flake and pellet at dinner time. I also dose dr. Tims eco balance a couple times a week and that prevents any cyano or algae outbreaks IMO. Now my p04 usually reads 10-15 ppb and n03 1.5-3 and I’m very happy with where the tank is now. I got sucked into the idea of chaeto, gfo, carbon dosing and all that other useless stuff and once I made a simple system like wwc does and feed pretty regularly the colors and corals have just taken off. I do not dose any aminos, acro power or any other coral food. Just good old fish poop. Also I don’t even run my skimmer 24/7 I turn it on for 8 hours every 3 days and that’s it.

That’s good, thanks for the insight. I feed 5x/day but I run heavy export, and skim dry. I do run Rowaphos, NO3 reactor and chaeto, but everything else is doing fine.

Thanks for your info.
