kenya tree...

so when i first started my tank i got a big kenya tree and over the next few months it was letting off so many babies i got scared it would over run my tank so i moved it into my brothers tank.. it was thriving for a few months but the last couple days it was looking so small and withered and when i picked it up all the bushy part began to fall off.(that cant be good) so i made a split second decision :smile: based on the fact that i read alot of places its somtimes hard just to get rid of kenya trees.. so i took it out to the kitchen and took a blade to the stalk, i cut it in the middle of the stalk and placed it into my tank for healing..

im pretty sure i read somwhere that if you just cut the bush off the stalk and it will grow back, is this true? :ooh:

It can be true yes. Kenya trees are very hardy though and if yours was dying their is a factor in your tank making it unhealthy. Just cutting it will not correct what the problem is.

Hhhhhmmm, if something else was already stressing it out, I don't think bouncing it back and forth between the two tanks is going to help the issue any, with the stress of cutting on top of that, you may lose it.

i havent been checking on my brothers tank because my dad decided to take over the responsibility (my dad has messed up alot of tanks in his day) i really had no say in it.. but like always now there is some problems going on with his tank alot of stuff is dieing.. did a water change yesterday and moved his rock structure around got all the debris (there was so much!!!) probably going to do another water change today, need to test all the parameters.. just been lazy lol plus i dont have an accurate alk test.. =[

but my tank i test on the regular and everything in my tank is fine besides my recent bryopsis problem..

I had a large colony that would shrivel up and and seem to wither at the slightest provocation. it's not uncommon for the move to stress them out. as hardy as they are, they can be sensitive to an environment change. I got one at a frag swap and it took two weeks to fully open.
