Another thing I'd like to add to this thread is Kessil's amazing customer service. Literally just today, I had an issue with my mounting arm. One of the bolts stripped out as I was moving it. I emailed kessil and they've already got a replacement arm on the way to me no questions asked. Top notch if you ask me :)

My tank ran with 8 Bulb t5 until I got tired of the heat and size of fixture. Corals looks good but not GREAT so I Replaced with 2-AP700 and never looked back they pop! The color is amazing and the growth is insane. These pics are with crappy iPhone camera. I have 6 maxima clams all over the tank now and they are all happy and they love the Kessil. I max mine at 65%

I have one ap700 over my 120 gallon. I love the light. I also bought the major diffusers. Within minutes the SPS coral responded and the polyps began to extend more. I agree, if we had more control over the light spectrums, that would make this light short of amazing. Here is a pic of my tank without the diffusers. I ramp up the light to 100% for four hours over the course of 12 hours.

In curious what do the light diffusers do? Is this something I should consider adding or how do you know if you need them? I have 98% LPS, clams and anemones. Is this only for SPS that needs them?
I'd like to have my good friend @saltyfilmfolks answer that if he would be willing. He's more familiar with the subject than I am. I don't use diffusers on my AP700.

In short , it softens the light. A softer light spreads more. It’s a visual choice like t5 , as well as limiting hot spots.

Like a flashlight with a thin paper over it.

I agree. Before the diffusers I had overwhelming shimmer do to the water surface flow, not to mention the hot spots. When I added them I had to ramp up the light to 100% (Before was 70- 75% max). But the coral have responded nicely since, as saltyfilmfolks said, it softens the light much like a T5.

Did you do the slight or major diffusers?

I will add however that the diffusers are suppose to reduce shimmer, reduce shadowing and help blend the colors more which in my opinion the kessil does an amazing job of already so you shouldn't have to blend the color Any more lol.

More control over the spectrum would likely lead to nothing but issues; I think one of the greatest "features" of the A360s is that you cant mess with them much. I think the control that is provided on the 700s should have been locked in a similar manner.

It is, but at the same time it isn't, if that makes sense. You can choose from deep ocean blue (or 0% color or color knob turned all the way down) and go up from there as you could with the knob on the A360, but it also gives you the option to add red and green into the mix, if you leave them at 0 all the time, its the same concept :)
