+1. I'm sick of kalk paste and joe's juice and all those other attempts that always seem to fall short. Would it work on Anthelia too? The work "weed" doesn't even begin to describe that stuff. Every time I try to pull it out, it just shows up in new spots.

I bought my zapper from Paul several months ago and it works great! The anemonies fizzle like hydrogen peroxide when stuck with the needle. A patent - now you'll needed to keep up with the demand and hopefully no copycats!!!

Welcome and thanks for sharing what seems to be a very awesome tool. I got two questions though.
1. Any effect of the water chemistry? Since the article menion chlorine. For instance if it was used continuously for 10 mins is there any effect depending on the size of the tank?
2. Does the dead aptaisa tend to spread more? We have all been there with kalk, joes juice, etc and usually you have another hand siphoning out the leftover pieces to avoid any spreading.

There are two out there already but I am already into the patent for $10,000.00 and the NY law firm that I am working with is a large well established bunch of patent attorneys.
The unit does emit some chlorine and hydrogen gas. I have used it many times for 30 minutes in my own 100 gallon reef and I have not seen any problems but I would not use it in a nano for a long time. All of the 100+ that I sold were tested in my reef.
I personally don't have any aiptasia in my reef, only mojanos so I can't honestly answer that. I am fairly sure that if you have a bunch of mojanos or aiptasia in your reef you probably have tiny ones all over the place waiting to grow so nothing will kill all of them permanently and it is an ongoing thiong. There is nothing to wear out in the unit so you wil have to zap occasionally.
I shipped a few to Missouri, who was it?

Sasquatch, I will see if I can find a picture of my first prototype that used a car battery.
Almost blew up my tank a few times. My first model was used because of the Long Island Sound water and mud I put in my tank, these small anemones grow like crazy in the Sound and I once had them all over the place. The thing worked but it was much too powerful so I had to put it in series with light bulbs.
I have to look through a thousand pictures because it was a film camera like most of my pictures. :bigsmile:
I even used it on large bristle worms that in those days were supposed to be dangerous.
But I don't think I was on Reef Sanctuary then. I could have been, I don't remember.

Thanks Sasquatch, the thing actually started with me installing small lights in caves in my tank. I am an electrician and always messed around with transformers. I had lights in the caves (which looks really stupid) and eventually the sealant leaked because we didn't have silicone in those days. I noticed the bubbles coming out of the wiring and started to experiment with just adding electricity to the tank for all sorts of things like eliminating algae and making fish spawn. It doesn't do any of those things by the way.

Paul, you finally found this forum.
Reefers cafe was my first forum for learning Salt. Paul's aptaisia killer is pretty neat, and from what i hear his wife loves killing them with it :)

I am married to her for 38 years and she never had an interest in the tank until I showed her how to kill Mojanos. Now any time she spots even a hint of one, she has to kill it. I guess it gets out her agressions.

JoelK gave a really nice demo of it at a SEAS Frag swap (Saltwater Enthusiast Association of Springfield, Mo) that I attended a couple months ago.

Joel, I broke two of mine also. Now I am using rejects that are either repaired or leak.
I test each one in my tank and have no more mojanos but I can tell it is working by the bubbles.
Any new updates on this zapper?? Anyone here get one and can share some comments, maybe some vids!! Thanks.

The Zapper now called the "Mojano Wand" (due to patent concerns) has a patent pending and soon will have a full 20 year patent.
I also will shortly have an international patent. A member on another forum has started a business and will be selling them. (I don't need a business at my stage in life) We have a few hundred ordered and as soon as we get some legal nonsense out of the way they will be offered for sale in many places in the world. I am not exactly sure of the price yet but we will also be wholesaling them.
I hope to advertise here as well as other places. I already shipped over 150 of them with no problems.
There is another company selling them who stole my idea after they bought one but that will soon be taken care of.
Lawyers are expensive but they get the job done.
I have spent over $10,000.00 already and will probably have to spend another $23,000.00 so a few more will not matter.
Now if I can break even before I croak, thats the goal. :squigglemouth:
