Is there a way to kill red bugs that could be on frags before they go into your tank? Will coral RX work? Is there a way to treat individual frags with interceptor before they go in the tank? Has anyone used a different method?

Bayer advanced home complete insect killer. Search it on this forum and that other. There's about 2 years of testing and people using with great success with all pests including AEFW. I use it also and it definately kills the redbugs and all corals I've dipped don't seem to mind and sps poly extension isbetter after usually.

Interceptor can be used prior to adding to the tank at rates up to 10X dosage, Ive seen some hard core SPS guys do periodic treatments of the display also, only catch is you can't keep shrimp if you go this route.

So what is the correct dosage for the interceptor? I'm guessing the red bugs will die before the aefw would

I also used the Bayer (Interceptor is currently off the market because of some manufacturing issues, but will be back later according to my vet).

The strength depends on if you get the concentrated or not. There is a thread on here that was very helpful. I dipped my infected SPS in it and it killed the bugs nearly instantly. I now dip all new corals in it before putting them into my tank. Works great, no issues with it harming the corals either.

I use "Bayer complete insect killer concentrate" at a rate of 2.5cc per cup (8 oz) of saltwater. I soak for 10 minutes, then soak in a rinse bucket of saltwater for 10 minutes. Then place in tank.

Tagging along....dosing my tank tonight with Interceptor. I'll have to try the Bayer as a dip in the future to prevent a tank infestation.

@TD - Have you suffered any loses from dosing with the Bayer?

nope, everything is doing fine and no sign of bugs after the initial dip. I've also been giving all new corals a dip before they go in my tank. so far so good.
