I recently upgraded from a 125 to a 300G-96x30x24 and run a 125G sump, so approx 380G system.

I have two local club members that need to rehome fish due to outgrowing their systems and I offered to take them when they were ready.

These conversations were done at separate times and both recently got ahold of me about them. Happens they are both Vlamingi Tangs. it didn't dawn on me because one was being called a unicorn tang( same thing) Both in the 6-8" range. I don't think it is wise for me to take both unfortunately. I may also have a 6" Naso tang coming soon from a different local member.

Current livestock include
5" D.Sailfin
5" blue hippo
4" purple tang
5" foxface
5" porqupine puffer
Pair of black clowns

Refugium, cryptic fuge, skimmer rated for medium stocked 300g and algae scrubber.

Wishing I would have gone with my sister in laws 540G tank instead of the 300 now. lol

I also dont want to overload the system because there are other smaller fish I want.

I think I just talked myself into only getting one and maybe helping the second find a suitable home.

thoughts?

I would only go with one. They get BIG.

DO YOU THINK TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENTS ARE MORE HELPFUL OR HURTFUL TO REEFING?

  • I think it depends mostly on the technology.
