Is it really possible to have an all LED aquarium and have a successful mixed reef tank with SPS growth?

I have a 75 gallon with a 48" Current Marine orbit pro LED. I need more lighting as only about 60 degree angle from light. I need either a a second Marine Pro OR I need to add some Kessils or AI LEDs.

Is it worth it to try and keep an all LED tank? Can you achieve growth of SPS?

If so, can people send some pics and what has worked for them with all LED tanks?

Without question an all LED tank is possible. I ran two Apollos for about 3 years before adding a Mars Aqua about eight months ago.

I am giving away/throwing away corals they grow so fast. I'm kicking myself for ever putting in monti cap....I throw that away by the bucket.....it's a weed.

Here is my current display tank, running just one 48" current orbit marine pro. Good light only if right in middle of tank, otherwise it shades if you bring it in front or back. See second photo, light at front. Third photo light at back. Fourth photo shows narrow angle of light spread from side of tank.

Great pics, is there a consensus of the best LED out there?
The best will be what works for you. Meaning people will tell that they like what they have. Of which is not necessarily the best.
Remember this PUR is most important regardless what some will tell you. PAR is not the top concern period. Go to this site and use their links on lighting before you buy.

When it comes to lighting, most are only opinions. Read and research well to find out what fits your personal needs. Good Luck:cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::):)

I found my way to this forum for some experience, no matter how much you read there are pro's and cons to all the lighting options. I just don't want to spend close to $1000 for more LED's if I still need to go out and buy a T5 in a few months....but from the above, it looks like people are having success

Maybe buy 2 more of what you have or maybe look at reef radiance. or a 6-8 T5 fixture. Pick the latter if you have sunrise and sunset option. these will be <$1k now if you will go $1.6K new story. http://www.americanaquariumproducts.com/Aquarium_Lighting.html

I've run LEDs exclusively for almost a decade with great success. I have a Kessil 360 over my 50g cube right now.
