I bought a taotronic dimmmable light fixture gip-165w. I had it around 2 years. The once cool white, looking leds are now casting a yellow looking warm white hue. Can I fix this?. Or is it time for a new light?

Time for a new light probably. Most of these leds are blue by design and contain a gas that makes them a different color. Although it takes a really long time to turn it will eventually. Interesting though you are getting a yellowish fade as it should go to a more softer white and then to blue I would think.

Take what I just posted with a grain of salt as I have never actually experienced this. I was doing some research on refugium lighting and leds and thats what I came across I will find the link and post it. It was actually quite interesting.

I've been using only the top binned Cree X series on my Tanks. The oldest is pushing 5 years with no problems of colour shift and no noticeable loss of intensity.

Today I would only consider a domestic Fixture with the Cree XT-E, XP-G or XP-E2 LEDs. Some imports put the Cree logo on the box despite there are no Cree LEDs in the fixture.
